2025 is already half way through so it's officially time to stop and reflect on a few wedding floral trends we're seeing this year. Whether you're a bride in the process of designing the most glorious day, a florist looking for another opinion or just here for fun, let's DIVE IN.
Cake meadows
These glorious installs make it appear as if your cake is sitting in her best era as the shining star of the reception. Cake meadows have taken over what once was one of the smallest items on the invoice and have transformed into a seriously impactful element. Just a few years ago, the dessert smorgasbord of assorted sweets was so IN. But classic tiered cakes have now made their come back and we're hoping it's here to stay.

Here's inspo for a smaller install if you're looking for a middle ground between WOW and just a touch of blooms on your cake.
Mono-bloom Bouquets
As someone with a painting background, your girl loves a monochromatic moment. So when the trend of mono-bloom bouquets ( a bouquet of only one type of flower ) started making an appearance, I was all ready to hop on board. But even the best ideas have some kinks.
If you are a bride looking for a very specific shade of color or flower, these are maybe not for you. As florists know, you can order a soft light blue Delphinium and what comes in is a deep indigo. Or you order blush Clooney Ranunculus and bubblegum pink is substituted.
In mixed bouquets, these slight subs go unnoticed because you can bring that soft blue in with Tweedia or that blush pink in with some sweet peas. However, if a bride is envisioning a lush handful of an exact flower in their perfect shade, expectations might not always be met. Brides, if your heart is set on mono-bloom, we recommend over communicating with your florist about your color expectations. A good florist will be up front about possible substitutions but it doesn't hurt to be in the know about this particular aspect of this iconic trend.

Wild local florals
We are after the wild at heart when it comes to floral design. We've always been passionate about bold color choices but what we are absolutely loving are the not so traditional elements we're seeing.
Roses, Peonies and Ranunculus are classic for a reason. But what if your flowers were not able to be replicated? That happens when florists use local product that is seasonal. Because some product doesn't fair well when shipped overseas or isn't growing native in other parts of the world, there are flowers you just can't plan to order. This is one of the many reasons why local has become such a hot trend.
Sourcing local works really well when you have reliable growers that you can count on for product in 10 months while working out the flower recipes. However, things happen, weather changes and some things just won't be growing when you'd hoped they would. For this reason, we love to add a cushion in our budget so we can source locally closer to the event. A trip made to our local co-op to hand pick bunches that encompass the exact season of your wedding--talk about special.
If you're hoping for unique and local product to be added to your florals,
we highly suggest picking your date between June--early October if you're in Missouri!
Well there you have it. Our take on three trends of 2025! We love all three but are just here to share what we've learned to help you decide if these trends are for you.
P.S. Because we love local so much, we offer a 100% local delivery from blooms to vase. We like to say--locally grown and thrown. These are available May-October!
